Veteran´s home museum contains a collection of historical mementos and objects dating back to the time of Finnish autonomy, early years of Independence, and war memories from Winter- and 1941-1944 wars. The museum was founded by lawyer, war veteran and sportsman Reino Ikävalko together with his wife Eila, a war-time Lotta. The museum is still the home of Eila Ikävalko with a strong patriotical atmosphere in all its rooms. In the exhibition you will see forexample maps, war time objects, weapons and uniforms, which belonged to the Finnish, Soviet and German Armies. A Finnish General´s and a Soviet Admiral´s uniforms are displayed. Two war-time cannons are outside the museum. The museum is located in the so called Piponius House, a neo-classical building in central Imatrankoski, opposite to Imatran Valtionhotelli.
